Crowdsourced Safety
28 July, 2021
Delhi-based app, Safetipin, is making public spaces safer for women. The app, founded by Dr Kalpana Viswanath, gives information about a location based on crowdsourced scorecards, to help each user identify which places are safe and which are not. In an interview with @newindianexpress Dr Kalpana says, “The whole idea is to make cities safer for women, more walkable, improve street lights, and encourage more women to be out.” The app is now available in over 20 cities across India.
