Some 200 students per year will now attend the prestigious Yale School of Drama without paying tuition, thanks to the generosity of David Geffen. The billionaire entertainment mogul is donating $150 million to Yale University, making its School of Drama totally tuition free. That will apply for all degree and certificate students, including those that are returning. The subsidised tuition will kick in starting the Fall semester. Geffen said, “removing the tuition barrier will allow an even greater diversity of talented people to develop and hone their skills in front of, on, and behind Yale’s stages.”
