Solar Food has developed a revolutionary way to produce a natural protein power, called ‘Solein,’ with just electricity and air. This first-of-its-kind food ingredient is a complete protein containing all the essential amino acids, which can be used in anything from dairy and meat alternatives, to snack and beverages without altering their taste. The Finnish food tech company, is commercialising the food technology with the construction of its “Factory 01” starting in 2023. Solein’s production is not reliant on agriculture, weather, photosynthetic plants, or animals – making Solein one of the world’s most sustainable protein sources.
