A company called Mycocycle is using fungi to break down pollutants (like plastics and petrochemicals) in waste. Known as mycoremediation, the cleantech group uses mushrooms to remediate toxic constituents in a process that is sustainable, cost-effective, and promotes a closed loop supply chain. Mycocycle partners with material recyclers and landfill operators to help them reduce waste volume and the amount of toxins entering the environment.
