Designer Martin Vargic reimagines the internet as an atlas. Inspired by the design of historical maps, the project aims to concisely and comprehensively visualize the current state of the World Wide Web. Relative territorial sizes of websites are based on their average Alexa web traffic ranking between January 2020 and January 2021. The map is filled with continents dedicated to topics like news, e-commerce, social media, and pornography. Then inside these continents live countries like CNN, Reddit, Alibaba, and Pornhub.
