Cooling paint

Breaking a world record wasn’t a goal for Purdue University researchers, curbing global warming was. However, an ultra-white paint developed by Purdue just earned a Guinness World Record for the world’s whitest paint. The paint reflects 98.1 percent of solar radiation while outputting infrared heat. As this leaves a painted surface cooler than the environment (regular paint warms the surface,) it could effectively replace air conditioning!
