In 2009 (the year before Instagram was launched) researchers at UC San Diego estimated the average American took in around 34 gigabytes of data per day. Nobody was Googling “NFT” yet, Kanye had released 4 out of 10 albums and the latest Apple drop was the iPhone 3. If 34 daily gigabytes outlined 2009’s average intake, how much data would our brains be processing today? Between new technologies and daily media consumption, information speed is expanding way beyond our brain’s capacities.
